A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Matt Allen graduated from Wolfson High School in 1996. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy as a Submarine Navigator. He conducted 12 deployments on multiple nuclear-powered submarines, including tours in Connecticut, Georgia, and Tennessee. Matt retired after 21 years of service in 2017 as a Submarine maintenance project manager in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He continued to work as a project manager for BAE Systems and Vigor Marine in Pearl Harbor, maintaining Arleigh Burke class Destroyers, and as a Project manager for Atlantic Site and Marine where he managed multiple commercial, government, and single family utility and horizontal construction projects. He also got the opportunity to realize a childhood dream when he traveled the country as a PGA tour caddie.
He joined the Corner lot team as a Purchasing Manager for Breeze Homes and currently manages contracts, facilitates vendor relationships, and oversees construction projects. During his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his son Peyton and his daughter Adriana, playing golf, supporting the Jacksonville Ice Men, and any activity that includes being on or in the water, live music, and traveling.
